Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber aren’t just multi-platinum singers — they’re also snappy dressers. Both stars are among the musicians who’ve made GQ’s list of the 30 Most Stylish Young Men in Hollywood, along with Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas and Darren Criss.
The magazine calls Bruno, who came in at #30 on the list, “a master of throwback style,” saying he’s “one part Elvis, one part Sinatra, one part R&B charmer.” As for the Bieb, in at #9, the magazine says, “His taste is about as lux as you can get: YSL brooches, Watanabe varsity jackets [and] custom-made motorcycle jackets in powder blue.” GQ also notes, “Sure, he has the occasional miss, but he’s mopping the floor with most other kids who just exited puberty.”
Nick Jonas is #6 on the list, and GQ says he “looks like a movie star” with his “leather jackets and slinky tees.” His bro Joe is #4, and the mag hails him for being an “early adopter of the jean-jacket-under-a-blazer thing that’s blowing up.” They also give him props for rocking “the gutsiest suits on the planet: white, plaid, purple striped — you name it.”
As for #1 stunner Darren Criss of Glee, GQ says, “No one comes correct and with more variety…Bow ties, trim suits in gutsy shades, saddle shoes, smart casual attire—there’s no look or flourish he can’t pull off.”
The men really brought it to the table this year with a splash of fun and vibrant colours, festive jumpers, diva like fur coats, well groomed hair, double coloured 3-D glasses and yellow fluffy bits and bobs!
But who owned the year? Here is MTV’s top 10 countdown of the best dress chiocos this year….
10) Jeremy Scott
9) Bill Cunningham
8 ) Adam Lambert
7) Rain
6) Jaden Smith
5) Mark Ronson
4) Ryan Gosling
3) Pharrell Williams
2) Kayne West
1) Justin Bieber
Not only has Biebs been crowned as the owner of the most influential haircut this year but he’s also our best dressed. 2011 was a transitional year for Biebs. We saw him go from that young break out kid to a slick and sophisticated young man. His suited booted look at the American Music Awards, festive Christmas jumper and pink shirt with cool waist coat were three looks we loved.
When we saw Justin Bieber performing hits from his holiday-themed Under The Mistletoe album on the Today show this morning, we couldn’t take our eyes off his christmas sweater-meets-varsity jacket attire. And then we realized it wasn’t just any ordinary christmas sweater-meets-varsity jacket, one that costs $1,650 by Junya Watanabe.
Justin wore a really cool t-shirt to the MMVAs last night in Toronto under his white jacket. Had to do some research to find out who this girl was on his shirt. Her name is Tiffani Thiessen and she is known for playing Valerie Malone on Beverly Hills, 90210 (the original version of Beverly Hills 90210 in the 1990’s).
She also played a cheerleader named Kelly Kapowski on Saved By The Bell.
Who’d have thought Italian fashion gods D&G’s Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were big Beliebers?
In fact they like Justin Bieber so much, they’re throwing him a party this weekend after his Milan gig.
‘We do love Justin’s music,’ Domenico confesses.
‘We have been listening to his last album during our fashion show preparation and in our freetime it’s in our playlist of favourites.’
Justin Bieber is also a big fan of the designers, wearing D&G to the Golden Globe Awards earlier this year and rocking his and hers Dolce & Gabbana outfits with girlfriend Selena Gomez at the Vanity Fair Oscars party.
Plus Justin, 17, sported the labels looks at the Brit Awards and at his Never Say Never London movie premiere.
‘He belongs to the new generation, he cares about fashion,’ Domenico tells Vogue UK.
‘We are very happy to dress him and we admire him a lot.’
The private Justin Bieber party will take place this weekend but, sorry girls, it’s invitation only.
