Jennifer Aniston was doing an interview for her new movie Wonderlust and they asked her who she wanted to play her in a movie about herself and she chose Justin Bieber. Ok if the alternative was Robert Pattinson then I understand :/ (I actually can’t even watch the interview because MTV blocks the video from playing in Canada. Why MTV!?)
It’s official: The Adam Sandler-Jennifer Aniston comedy grosses $30.5 million, while the teen heartthrob’s biopic rakes in roughly $29.5 million.
Final numbers show Sony’s Adam Sandler-Jennifer Aniston romantic comedy Just Go With It winning the weekend box office crown after maintaining a narrow lead over Paramount’s Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.
Just Go With It looks to have grossed $30.5 million, while Never Say Never took in roughly $29.5 million.
Sunday’s estimates had Just Go With It and Never Say Never separated by only $700,000, or $31 million vs. $30.3 million, respectively.
Either way, Never Say Never—fueled by young girls–far outpaced expectations in its debut, one of the top ever for a documentary. Including revenue from advance screenings on Feb. 9, film’s cume is north of $30 million.
Never Say Never, directed by Jon M. Chu, is more of a biopic than a concert film. Females made up 84 percent of the audience, while 67% of the audience was under the age of 25.
Paramount said moms reacted well to the film, which drew an A- CinemaScore.
The big question now is what kind of legs Never Say Never will have. It’s almost impossible to predict the box office power of Bieber’s adoring fans.
Sony says Just Go With It is well-positioned to take advantage of Valentine’s Day theater traffic, as well as the long President’s Day weekend, which begins Friday. As with Never Say Never, word of mouth should be good, thanks to a B+ CinemaScore.
HOLLYWOOD REPORTER
Justin Bieber has proven he has the golden touch. But does JB have what it takes to conquer Hollywood?
It’s coming down to the wire and the race can’t be any closer.
Going into this weekend Hollywood insiders predicted that Justin’s “Never Say Never 3D” would take second place while “Just Go For It” starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston would become the #1 movie this Valentine’s Day weekend. Well Justin might be able to put a stop to their celebration.
First a little background. When you make a movie, what you want is for that movie to be #1 in it’s opening weekend. To determine who is the box office winner they only count ticket sales for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. They add those up and which ever movie makes the most in the USA for those 3 days total will be crowned “#1 movie at the box office.”
This weekend there are 4 big movies opening including Never Say Never. With huge movie stars like Jennifer Aniston, Adam Sandler, and Nicole Kidman “Just Go For It” was predicted to definitely top the box office this Valentine’s Day weekend. When the ticket sales totals for Friday came in it looked like Justin was going to do the impossible. With “Never Say Never” taking in $12.35 million vs $9.7 million for “Just Go For It” for Friday alone, it looked like the impossible started looking more probable than not.
Well the latest numbers so far will shock you. If ticket sales go at the pace they are going at right now, “Just Go For It” is expected to make $31,000,000. And “Never Say Never” you ask? It’s expected to make $30,260,000. It can’t be any closer.
But of course Sunday just started in North America so Sunday’s numbers won’t be official until Monday. This means that at this very moment Justin and Scooter must be anxious waiting to see if Justin will officially do the impossible and have the #1 movie at the box office beating out Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, 2 hugely successful and popular movie stars. If Justin does it it would be an amazing accomplishment.
So to all you Americans reading our blog, we ask that if you are planning to watch this movie anyway then call your friends, get dressed up, and hit the movie theatres (No I didn’t spell it wrong. This is how Canadians and British spell theater.) before Sunday is over. Justin needs our help right now and I bet you he doesn’t even know exactly how close the race is. (Justin come to our site already geez!)
So please go watch the movie TODAY!!
Justin’s big movie is coming out this weekend. And so is Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler’s “Just Go For It”.
It is expected that Justin will be number two in the box-office while “Just Go For It” will take the top spot.
At the premiere in LA yesterday, MTV caught up with them and the other stars of the movie and asked them about their main competition – Justin Bieber. Here’s what they have to say….
In the battle of movie openings, whose film do YOU think will make the most moolah?
Does Justin Bieber have a chance at starring in the number one film in the country if he’s going up against Jennifer Aniston and Selena Gomez?
HollywoodLife.com made the discovery that the 16-year-old singing sensation’s 3-D documentary is going head to head with Jen’s Just Go With It and Selena’s Monte Carlo on the dame day –- Feb. 11!
Let us tell you about all three films and YOU can decide who has the best shot at box office glory!
In Just Go With It, Jen, 41, pretends to be Adam Sandler’s wife in order to help him land an important job. Victoria’s Secret model Brooklyn Decker and Nicole Kidman also star in the romantic comedy, which takes place in beautiful Hawaii. There’s a lot of bikini body action involved. Score!
Meanwhile, Monte Carlo is chock full of young starlets! Selena, 18, stars as a young ingénue traveling through Europe with besties Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy when she’s mistaken for an heiress and kidnapped. Her boyfriend, Glee star Cory Monteith, is on a mission to save her. Intrigue, romance AND a healthy dose of CW stars could make this movie #1!
Justin’s documentary, however, is all about his life and features stars like Miley Cyrus and Usher. All three movies totally hit a similar demographic, which leads us to wonder who the biggest box office draw will be. May the best man OR woman win!
