@UMusicMexico: @justinbieber recibió Disco de Triple Platino por 180,000 ventas físicas y más de 300,000 Tracks de #Believe
Justin was honoured in Mexico City yesterday as his latest album reached triple platinum sales status in Mexico. Believe has sold 180,000 cds and 300,000 singles so far.
It’s official. Justin’s new album “Believe” has given JB his forth #1 album since his debut in December of 2009 with “My World” with sales of 374,000 in it’s first week. No other artists have had that many #1 albums in that span of time.
“Believe” is also the biggest album debut of 2012 so far, surpassing the 359,000 start of Madonna’s “MDNA.” (The last artist to earn a larger launch was Drake’s “Take Care” on Dec. 3, 2011. It debuted with 631,000 albums. Adele’s “21” sold 730,000 albums a week after the Grammy show this year after she won multiple awards but it was not a 2012 debut.)
Justin also notches his own personal best sales week, beating the 291,000 that “My World 2.0” sold in its second week back in April of 2010.
Believe’s original forecast of 410,000-440,000 albums was inflated by the huge first-day sales and significant number of pre-orders.
The four JB albums to hit the top of Billboard 200 charts are:
- My World 2.0
- Never Say Never: The Remixes
- Under The Mistletoe
- Believe
(“My World” debuted at #5 and “My World Accoustic” reached #7.)
Justin Bieber’s debut fragrance has generated over $3 million in sales in just three weeks and could become the best-selling perfume of 2011.
Justin Bieber’s debut perfume looks set to become the top-selling perfume of 2011.
The 17-year-old singer’s women’s scent, Someday, generated more than $3 million in retail sales at Macy’s in New York in under three weeks and experts are already hailing its debut on June 23 as the most successful celebrity fragrance launch in history.
Karen Grant, vice president and senior global industry analyst of the NPD Group Inc., said: “If it sustains this momentum, it will become the number-one-selling fragrance of 2011. We haven’t seen anything like it since [Jennifer Lopez’s] Glow and [Britney Spears’] Curious.”
To launch the fragrance, Justin made a personal appearance at Macy’s, where the first 325 fans who purchased the $135 Someday gift set had their pictures taken with the ‘Baby’ hitmaker and the store believe the star’s presence propelled the fragrance’s high sales.
Terry Lundgren, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Macy’s Inc., told WWD: “Justin Bieber’s Someday fragrance, propelled by Justin’s incredible personal appearance at Macy’s Herald Square, has resonated with our customers, and has now become the biggest celebrity fragrance launch on record.”
Following’s its success in Macy’s, other US stores – including Dillard’s, Boscov’s, Belk, Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, Sephora and Ulta – are now stocking the fragrance, while it will also be sold overseas, including in the UK, Australia, Germany and New Zealand.

Justin Bieber tops the Hot Tours rankings with box office grosses reported from the first two venues on the Australian leg of his My World Tour during April and May. Arenas in Brisbane and Sydney hosted the Canadian pop star with sold out crowds in both markets to kick off the brief trek Down Under.
An April 26 performance at Brisbane Entertainment Centre grossed just over $1 million ($1.1 million US$) with 11,065 in attendance. Two days later, Bieber played the first night of a two show run in Sydney at the Acer Arena. Attendance for both nights neared the 30,000 mark with ticket sales totals topping $2.6 million ($2.8 million US$). Justin’s “Never Say Never” has already grossed $63,300,218 so far making it officially the third highest grossing documentary film of all time! Woohoo!
Standing in his way is Michael Moore’s “Fahrenheit 9/11” (which I love because, well….. I don’t like George Bush) which earned $120 million and “March of the Penguins” which earned $77 million.
JB is expected to surprass Penguins to become the second highest documentary of all time but don’t expect it to surpass Fahrenheit.
But then again, never say never right?
Album sales are down 13% so far this year, but for a select few, there’s gold at the end of the tunnel.
The Recording Industry Association of America just released its latest list of album and single certifications. Justin Bieber tops the sales heap, moving more than 2 million copies of My World, good for a double-platinum plaque. Also passing the platinum mark: the Glee Volume 1 soundtrack.
