  She seems pretty genuine about this. Even though dating Justin has boosted her media coverage, she’s gotten so much hate as well. She’s said in interviews how much it hurts her, so it seems like she’s dating him -despite- the difficulties, rather than dating him -for- the fame.

  The only evidence is that she’s dated other stars (Taylor Lautner, Nick Jonas) during the height of their popularity, so… I donno. Curious to see your post.
