Here is a bit of a weird story but one I think you’ll enjoy….

KC montero as Cassandra Monteroid

KC Montero is one of the few Pinoy celebrities who’s very active in Twitter. Each day, the TV and radio host uses the social networking site to connect to his friends and fans, as well as to promote his radio show, The KC Show on U92 and broadcasted online through ustream.tv.

What makes The KC Show interesting are the unique schemes that KC pulls off to rope in followers.

Aside from live musical guests—recent ones were Ely Buendia and La Diva—there are comedy skits, commentary, and also a “Phone a Celebrity” segment where KC calls a celebrity and broadcasts the conversation live.

But a new gimmick takes the cake: this involves a wig, a dress, and tons of makeup. Yes, the tall and bulky macho male celebrity is dressing up in drag.

This afternoon, July 12, The KC Show featured KC dressing up as a woman. Shown live on the Web was KC’s transformation from a brute to a butterfly named “Cassandra Monteroid.”

KC wore a wig from Angel Locsin, a dress from Sarah Meier, and makeup applied live by Bubbles Paraiso.

KC took on the drag challenge today because he lost a bet he made on July 5. On that date, he posted on Twitter: “Lets start a campaign for Justin Bieber to follow me. I will come to work in drag if he does.”

Justin Bieber is a young international popstar popular for his songs “Baby” and “One Time.” The 16-year old singer has millions of fans all over the world, composed mostly of pre-pubescent girls.

After KC posted his Twitter campaign, hundreds of Pinoy Twitter users immediately reposted it. Even his celebrity friends Denise Laurel, Maxene Magalona, and Angel Locsin promoted his campaign.

The next day, KC posted that the campaign was a success, and that Justin Bieber had indeed followed him on Twitter.

“For those of you who don’t know yet. The campaign for the bieb to follow me worked. For that I will be in drag all next week,” KC said.

This is why KC started Monday on his radio show in drag.

I guess JB’s management must have discovered that “No Country Is More Interested In Justin Bieber Than The Philippines“.

Thanks to Yhanie, the video below was posted on our Facebook Fan Page a few days ago but couldn’t be posted here because it was a Facebook video. Luckily someone posted the same video on YouTube.

In the video Justin says ‘Mahal Ko Kayong Lahat’ which means ‘Love you all’.

Justin is also on the cover of the current issue of Philippine’s Total Girl teen magazine.

And you know Yhanie has her copy already. Here she is with it. 🙂

Legaci may sounds strange to you but not anymore as they will hit the road together with Justin Bieber’s “My World Tour” which start this Wednesday June 23. Yup, Scott Braun hired them as Mr. Bieber backup-singers which means onstage they live between burst of spotlight and their camera time comes in blink and you’ll missed flashes. Keep an eye of them always. Don’t blink.

Legaci’s members are Chris Abad 28, Delfin Lazaro 28, Micah Tolentino 30, and Dominic Manuel 28, where from San Francisco Bay Area has been blending their four part melody since they were in high school influenced mainly on Boyz II Men and Shai. They’ve been finger-snapping in Saturday Night Live, The View, Ellen DeGeneres and Today Show. They performed on stage on a blowout Wango-Tango by KIIS-FM in Los Angeles.

But success never came easy for them.

Same as any other striving new artist it is their dream to make it in the US mainstream and get noticed by major labels. The group tried the lame traditional route and performed in college campuses, clubs and got same lame results. In mid 2000’s they released their own albums a mixed of their own compositions and few cover songs. They crank it up a notch by auditioning television talent shows like American Idol, America Got Talent and MTV’s Top Pop Group, but to no avail.

They have one option left and that was YouTube, exactly same as their new boss did. By 2007 they started posting their group performance of any kind but mostly they cover songs of known artist.

Their views on Youtube rose dramatically same as their subscribers. Until one day, they decided to cover insanely famous screaming young teens fave hit song called “Baby” by teenage sensation Justin Beiber. In less than 24 hours after it went live on Youtube they got a call, a call that will surely change their life. It was a call from Scott Braun, the manager of Mr. Bieber.

The next thing they know they joined Justin Bieber live performance on MTV.

Asian-American maybe seen as foreign to mainstream America but Legaci had just joined the fleet of pinoys who set their feet in the door in the likes of Allan Pineda aka Apl.de.ap of Black Eyed Peas, Arnel Pineda vocalist of Journey, aspiring pint-sized pop sensation Charice and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger (pinoy dad).

Best of luck guys!

According to Google Insights for Search*, for the last 90 days or ever since the Youtube sensation burst into global stardom, The Philippines has been leading the world in interest in the keyword ‘Justin Bieber’, which I believe translates to interest in the pop star himself.

Proof? HERE.

Here’s the regional interest chart for the said keyword as of May 29, 2010:

1. Philippines 100
2. Indonesia 78
3. Ecuador 76
4. El Salvador 75
5. New Zealand 72
6. Guatemala 57
7. Dominican Republic 57
8. Panama 56
9. Costa Rica 55
10. Peru 50

The numbers don’t lie. Clearly, nowhere else in the world is Justin Bieber more popular than in the Philippines.

Just hours after her episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” aired, Charice sat down and taped her own cover of Justin Bieber’s “Baby.” The two appeared on the show on Tuesday, and just a day later Charice admitted that she’s got Bieber fever.

“I just did that this morning,” she told MTV News on Wednesday (May 12), just a day after her self-titled debut album hit stores. “And it was because I love ‘Baby,’ it’s really a catchy song. I actually love covering some songs, but I think that’s the best song I sang so far, ’cause that’s my favorite song from Justin Bieber. I’m a fan. I love the story of his life. I love his attitude. I met him and he was really, really nice. I got the Bieber fever.”

She’s awesome! and so cute.

16-year-old Canadian teen pop sensation Justin Bieber has arrived in Tokyo, Japan today for a short appearance there.

Justin in fact has informed his more than 2 million followers on Twitter that he’s gonna check out Tokyo and buy some sneakers. “I’m in Tokyo, Japan!!! Slept almost the entire flight. Trying to get to the hotel and then go out and check out some sneaker stores.”

Biebers fans in neighboring Asian countries have mixed reactions. Some feel excited while others are envious and many are hoping that Bieber will also tour other Asian countries.

One fan tweeted, “I wanna be in Japan with Justin Bieber shoppin’ for sneakers.” Then another one said, “Attn Justin Bieber, no one in Japan cares about you.” And someone from Japan has tweeted, “That lil boy Justin Bieber is here in Japan and everybody’s freaking out. No lie I didn’t know who he was until I saw his video.”

After Japan, Justin Bieber will fly to Sydney, Australia for a short TV appearance on the morning show “Sunrise” of Channel 7.

Now, some Asian fans are asking, “When will Justin Bieber come to our country?”, a common question from those in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore.

I’ve read somewhere on the net that Justin Bieber will only stage concerts in some Asian countries if his latest album ‘My World 2.0″ will be sold out there or tons of units will be sold. I’m not sure if it’s true, but it might be true.

In fact, in the Philippines, Filipino fans have been buying the Bieber album. On the latest album chart released by Odyssey music stores in the Philippines, Bieber album is already the #1 top-seller. Check it out:

1) ‘My World 2.0’ – Justin Bieber
2) ‘Ikaw Na Nga’ – Willie Revillame
3) ‘The Fame Monster’ – Lady Gaga
4) ‘Byahe’ – Noel Cabangon
5) ‘KC’ – Kc Concepcion
6) ‘Fearless (Platinum Edition)’ – Taylor Swift
7) ‘I Star 15: Best of TV & Movie Themes’ – Various Artists
8) ‘Bugoy Drilon 2nd Album’ – Bugoy Drilon
9) ‘Only One’ – U-Kiss
10) ‘Addicted to Acoustic 2’ – Princess Velasco

So who are the biggest fans of Justin Bieber worldwide? Not the USA or Canada. Not even a European country or Australia. It is the Philippines! Yes, the Philippines!

I was just doing some surfing online today and came across something very interesting. Google has a service called Google Trends that allow you to see what topics are being searched and how they are performing in terms of  popularity. So of course I had to enter in “Justin Bieber” to see how popular this topic is on Google.(Google Trends)

The graph shows that Justin’s popularity took off around May-June of 2009 and has since seen a solid climb in internet popularity. But what’s most interesting is the information below the graph. It shows that the Philippines, on average, are more aware and interested in Justin than any other country, followed by Canada, the US, and Netherlands. What a surprise right?

In terms of cities of the world, Justin seems to be most searched by residents of Makati, Philippines, beating out Toronto, Richardson Texas, Montreal and Chicago. Can someone from Makati please explain to me why Justin is so popular there? Justin is such a popular search term from that city that it helped lift Tagalog (Philippine’s language) as the most used language in terms of search engine interest.

Crazy right? Just an interesting discovery about Justin I thought I should share with you. Are any of you surprised as I am? I swear my friends and I are the biggest Justin Drew Bieber fans in the world. I swear!

Anyways, check out the site link above and click your own country to find out some rather interesting statistics on Bieber Fever.
