Apparently Justin Bieber is dying to get into the studio with Lil’ Wayne. But despite the young crooner’s constant requests for some verses, the answer remains no.
In an upcoming interview with XXL, Wayne talks about his relationship with Bieber.
“That’s my little homie now. He texts me every night asking me to do [his] d*mn song. That’s my n*gga, but I can’t do it. Like I said, I don’t want to f*ck his sh*t up.”
Justin has quickly been working his way into the hip-hop world. He’s already collaborated on songs with Usher and Chris Brown and is close friends with Young Money’s Lil Twist. However a song with Lil’ Wayne guarantees that his tween followers would be exposed to a brand of lyrics that they may not be used to or ready for. And Lil Wayne is definitely not ready to censor himself down to PG.
Although some are calling this a “diss” it seems that Wayne is just looking after the youngster’s image and helping him to stay a parent-approved pop sensation. But we’re now seeing the direction in which Bieber wants to go. Who knows, in a few years we may see Bieber go wild, but for now Wayne will not be helping him do it.
After a busy crazy week promoting Someday in New York City, Justin was spotted arriving at LAX Airport in Los Angeles last night. He’s back in LA for the BET Awards at the Shrine Auditoriumtomorrow (starts 5pm on the west coast and 8pm on east coast).
In his never-ending quest to force crowd-control experts to rethink their life’s work, Justin Bieber went to Macy’s yesterday to plug his new fragrance. He was an hour and fifteen minutes late to his platform because, word is, as he was walking into the building, some of the more anxious/hormonal/insane fans surged toward him, forcing an undercover police officer to tackle him. Macy’s didn’t mind, though. While girls see hearts when they look at Bieber’s pupils, Macy’s executives see these: $$$$$$$$$.
From WWD:
Macy’s executives were perhaps even more enthusiastic than the weeping girls, with Muriel Gonzalez, Macy’s executive vice president and general merchandise manager of cosmetics, fragrances and shoes, flatly exclaiming: “This is going to be the biggest launch we’ve ever had.” And that’s saying something, considering the previous benchmark set by Beyoncé Knowles in February 2010 with her Heat launch in the same venue. Knowles’ scent was said to have sold $3 million at retail at Macy’s in its first month on counter.
