Justin Bieber and Monica have two things in common, chart-topping success during their teenage years and albums set to debut atop the charts next week.
According to early figures, Justin Bieber is set to top the Billboard 200 albums chart with his anticipated album “My World 2.0,’ while Monica is likely to top the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart thanks to “Still Standing”.
“My World 2.0,” Bieber’s second effort in less than a year, is a shoe in for the no.1 spot according to Billboard. While at least three days remain in the sales week, Bieber’s album is expected to sell anywhere from 225,000 – 250,000 copies !
Led by the Ludacris assisted single, “Baby,” “My World 2.0” features production from The Dream, The Stereotypes, Bryan Michael Cox and Tricky Stewart.
“Still Standing,” Monica’s sixth studio album, is also set to sell well through the week with projections calling for 165k – 190k.
Also featuring production from Bryan Michael Cox, “Still Standing’ includes the single “Everything To Me”.
Both albums were released Tuesday, March 23. Final numbers will be released Wednesday, March 31.
International superstar Justin Bieber was more than happy to meet some fans in New York today, as he arrived at the studios for his appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman later tonight (March 23). Justin posed for pictures and signed autographs for his fans, and signed the palm of a man.
Justin is currently promoting his new album My World 2.0, which was released today! Be sure to go out and grab a copy!
TMZ has learned Justin Bieber‘s manager turned himself in to police this morning — and it’s all over unlawful Tweets … allegedly.
Scott “Scooter” Braun surrendered on two misdemeanor charges — Reckless endangerment and criminal nuisance — stemming from an incident at a mall in November.
The incident which triggered the matter occurred last November at the Roosevelt Field mall when fans got out of control and at least one girl was hospitalized.
We’re told cops asked Braun to Tweet that the event had been canceled but they say he refused to do so.
Braun faces one year in jail if convicted.
UPDATE: The Bieb himself is finally weighing in — Justin just posted the following Tweet: “You’ve got my total support @scooterbraun Wish you were here in Chicago with us #FreeScooter“
