Justin Beiber is preparing for a very busy week ahead. The 16-year-old pop star is used to juggling a hectic schedule, but things have been unusually crazy for the “Baby” singer.

After a week of rehearsing in the Bahamas, Justin is preparing for his performance on the Much Music Video Music Awards (MMVAs). But Justin will hopefully be doing more than just working on Sunday night. The talented musician is nominated for three awards.

Justin will have home field advantage this weekend as he competes against a number of talented artists at the Canadian awards show. Justin is nominated twice in the category for International Video of the Year by a Canadian. Justin has a strong chance to win the award as the odds are in his favor. But, don’t rule out his fierce competition. The “Baby” singer will have to defeat Avril Lavigne and Drake to win the award. Drake is also nominated twice in this category.

Justin is also nominated for the UR Fave Video Award and the UR Fave New Artist Award. If he does win tomorrow night, Justin will be on hand to accept his award. The “Somebody To Love” singer is preparing to leave for Canada later today. He expressed his excitement on Twitter this morning. Justin tweeted:

“CANADA here we come!!! MMVA’s this weekend….let’s celebrate!”

Justin won’t be home for long. The teen pop star kicks off his My World tour on June 23.

Justin Bieber Up for First Ever Fandemonium Award on BET Awards 2010

BET Networks announced its first ever Fandemonium Award measuring the online and mobile fan power of today’s top music artists. The nominees for this new category are Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj and Trey Songz. Fans can help their idol to win the prize by visiting AOL Lifestream.

“Today’s successful artists don’t just make hits, they create movements where people can participate and connect with them in ways like never before. This award pays homage to the digitally engaged fans,” said Denmark West, President of Digital at BET Networks. “Though artists often reference their fans in receiving awards, never has there been a category that aggregates and mobilizes a fan base in such an influential way on behalf of an artist.”

The 10th Annual BET Awards is going to be held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on June 27. Other performers include Ludacris, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, P. Diddy’s Dirty Money, Nicki Minaj and Trey Songz. Queen Latifah takes the hosting duty, John Legend will receive Humanitarian Award and Prince will be honored with Lifetime Achievement Award.

P. Diddy (l.) says Justin Bieber (r.) deserves to be on BET stage.

Pop star Justin Bieber may be raising eyebrows for receiving a BET award nomination, but Diddy’s got his back.

“The awards are important to hip hop and to show [hip-hop artists] in the right light,” the mogul said at the network press conference on Tuesday.

“But the beauty of BET is, if Justin Bieber’s hot, then he deserves to be on that stage,” said Diddy. “Sometimes, at other award shows, the color of your skin or the type of music you make takes away from getting the accolade you deserve.”

NY DAILY NEWS

It’s the music and not the color of your skin that counts. A white person should be eligible to be nominated if they make R&B music. Just like a black person should be eligible to be nominated for a country award if they sing country. Simple.
